As most of you know mommy-to-be Jacqueline is about a week overdue. Little baby Holden is just as easy going as his daddy and he just is content where he is. Warm, cozy and well fed. Bebe and Grandpa had come into town this past weekend, just in case, and we thought the weather was so nice why not head to the beach. Nothing says go into labor like being an hour and a half away from the hospital and out on the beach. No such luck however, baby Holden stayed put, but we had a fabulous time. Kites were flown, picnics were had, and wading was done. Sofia and Eloise had no problem running right into the chilly water and although the air was warm, the wind was blowing so it was perfect for the kites and perfect for sitting on the beach! Still no word on the baby Holden.
Little things Sofia does have started reminding myself of me. Some of them are cute and others, well not so cute. Like when she puts her doll in a chair and yells “Sit! Now!”…. not sure where she gets that. Growing up I could see parts of myself that were my mom, but mostly my dad. My other sisters always had more of my mom’s traits, even in looks. Since moving to Portland and getting to spend more time with my parents in my adult years I am finding more similarities with my mom, especially lately. I am not going to go into any details but it is things I notice in reactions and interactions. Not sure where I was going with that but sometimes it is just nice to be reminded of where you came from.
